Lifeline Theatre Announces 2008-2009, 26th Anniversary Season
In its award-winning and audience-acclaimed style, Lifeline’s 2008-2009 season will feature six best-selling books onstage and one original play, all written by Lifeline ensemble members. The season will feature expansive, classic tales as well as intriguing, contemporary titles, as Lifeline retains its reputation for fresh, imaginative interpretations of well-loved stories and embraces the challenge and excitement of new, thought-provoking works.

Lifeline Theatre kicks off their 25th anniversary season by welcoming new Managing Director Angelo Barone. Barone will be responsible for all non-artistic functions, including operations, finance, marketing and strategic planning, and has oversight of all development and fundraising. He will team up with artistic director Dorothy Milne to shepherd the organization into its 2007-2008 season.

Three Rogers Park Theatre Companies in the Spotlight
Three Rogers Park theater companies within a block of each other on Glenwood Avenue are receiving kudos this season. Lifeline Theatre, Bohemian Theatre Ensemble and Theo Ubique in association with Michael James are all located on Glenwood Avenue in the Glenwood Avenue Arts District of Rogers Park. The three companies have had critically acclaimed seasons, have been awarded After Dark awards and are nominated for 7 or more Jeff Awards for their current seasons.

The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee today announced two Special Citations awards. Wrigleyville’s Stage Left Theatre and Rogers Park’s Lifeline Theatre are being honored for their contributions to theatre over the years. Both are mainstays of Chicago’s non-union theatre community and exemplify dedication to presenting new material.
